Legio VIII Augusta - http://roman.org.uk/ was formed originally in North Wales. From small beginnings, our membership is now drawn from much of Britain, and beyond. We are now counted by our peers to be amongst the top re-enactment societies representing our chosen period. As event promoters realise the public appeal of Roman combat as well as the more traditional drill displays, our events are normally in partnership with our very good friends, The Damnonii, who are based around the Glasgow area, in Scotland. Images of reenactments were used in the French Academy theme Les Romains en France
Frantisek Staud - Although Frantisek has a PhD in pharmacology he considers himself first and foremost a photographer, a writer and traveller. He was born in 1970 in Policka, Czech Republic, and spent most of his childhood taking photographs and learning to develop them himself. His first camera was a Zenit EM, and since then, he has never been without a camera. His photos can be seen in the French Academy theme Paris: Ville Culturelle
